The reason both are given as some DNS hosting provider does not support the TXT record, in this case, you need to add the MX record.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Step_4_Set_the_Online_services_and_Update_the_Domain_Name_System_setting\"><\/span><strong>Step 4: Set the Online services and Update the Domain Name System setting<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>You can update the DNS choosing any of the below options.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Add DNS record for me<\/li>\n<li>I\u2019ll add the DNS record<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-819\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mailsdaddy.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/dns.png\" alt=\"dns\" width=\"602\" height=\"409\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mailsdaddy.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/dns.png 602w, https:\/\/www.mailsdaddy.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/dns-300x204.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 602px) 100vw, 602px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Select the second option and hit the <strong>Next <\/strong>button.<\/p>\n<p>You will be asked to skip the step saying: \u201cI have custom DNS, so I\u2019ll add the records I need later. I understand that some Office 365 services may be unavailable until I manually add the records with my registrar.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If you like, you may skip it.<\/p>\n<p>Once it is verified, you can check whether the record was added to Exchange Online or not.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Note:<\/span> Here, you may not find that the TXT record has added. That is because the TXT is not supportable with your DNS management. Create the MX record.<\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Steps_to_add_the_MX_record_to_the_DNS_management_system\"><\/span><strong>Steps to add the MX record to the DNS management system:<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Copy the <strong>Point to address<\/strong>\u00a0the value of MX and go to the DNS hosting provider to add the MX record.<\/li>\n<li>In DNS management, add the record type as MX, set priority as zero, enter the hostname as @, TTL and paste the copied Point of address value.<\/li>\n<li>Save the record and go to O365 to verify it again.<\/li>\n<li>The verification process takes place and now you will find that the MX record has successfully updated.<\/li>\n<li>Now, you need to add all the CNAME record. Copy their <strong>hostname<\/strong> and <strong>Point to address or value<\/strong> and paste it to the DNS management. Verify all the added CNAME records update the DNS.<\/li>\n<li>In the same, you need to add the TXT record and SRV record and update the DNS.<\/li>\n<li>Once everything is updated and complete, the entire verification process then you get the message of complete updating.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Conclusion<\/strong>: Here in this blog you will get step by step guide to add a new custom domain in Office 365 tenant and verify it.
