How to Create a Gmail App Password
Google requires an App Password instead of your primary password to protect your Google account:
- Log in to your Google Account and select Manage your Google Account.
- Go to the Security tab and ensure 2-Step Verification is enabled.
- Visit myaccount.google.com/apppasswords.
- Enter an app name (e.g., MailsDaddy Backup) and click Create.
- Copy the 16-character code and paste it into the software password field.
- In Gmail Settings → Forwarding and POP/IMAP, ensure Enable IMAP is checked.
How to Create a Yahoo Mail App Password
Yahoo requires one-time app authorization for third-party email clients:
- Sign in to your Yahoo Account and open the Account Security page.
- Scroll down to the App passwords section and click Generate app password.
- Type MailsDaddy as the app name and click Generate.
- Copy the generated password without spaces and paste it into the backup tool.
