If you enable Two-factor Authentication that is different from two-step verification, resetting your password will be easier. In this process, you can reset your password directly from your iPhone, iPad, or your Apple Id Account page.   

Step 1: To reset your password, you can see an option “Request Account Recovery” on your Apple device. You have to enter your mobile number. After that, you’ll receive a verification code that will verify your information. 

Step 2: After the verification, you will get a confirmation saying you will be contacted when your account will be ready.

Step 3: After a moment, your account will be ready. Go to your iforgot.apple.com, enter your email ID, and confirm the mobile number.

Step 4: You’ll get an Account Recovery code via text which you have to enter. Click continue, and then you will be taken to a page where you can make a new password and sign in. 

When you use two-step verification

If you used two-step verification when you forgot your Apple ID password, you’d need a trusted iOS device and recovery key to reset the password. 

● Go to the iForgot.apple.com and enter the recovery key 

● Choose your trusted device to receive a verification code

● Enter your recovery code and press the Continue button.

● Choose a new password, then click the Reset Password button.
