No matter what the error is, when it is confronted, it keeps us in a dilemma. One such error is Mac Error 36, which causes users to face the problem of moving and capturing files. If it is seen on the system, then it comes up in the pop-up like this – “ The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “FileName” can’t be read or written. (Error code -36)”.
The reason for this is due to a hidden file “dot-underscore” (or .DS_Store) in your disk/flash drive or memory card. This file usually stores the metadata that is created when moving data from one system to another or from one drive to another.
Now if you want to get rid of this problem, thank you that you have the facility of command tool called “dot_clean.”, Which you can remove MAC error 36. To use dot_clean, you have to point it in the directory, where MAC error code 36 is coming from or where this file is trying to copy.
Before proceeding with the method below, it is necessary to check for corrupting the file or to ensure that it is error-free.
After that, you can try to copy the file into desired location or destination.
This is an optional choice because in my case I solved error 37 using the dot_clean command in the terminal window. You can also try this method first.
Enble file permission
Now try to copy the target file to its destination point.
Mac error 36 problem is small but it definitely makes your problem bigger than you can see in any Mac OS. The above method is completely safe and secure so try and fix MAC error code 36.
